Puppy Boot Camp Day 1

Well, today started puppy boot camp. The twins are at a bon fire, Ashley is with a friend, and David went fishing.

I have trained a few puppies over the years, and the kids have been in dog training for 5 years. So, I know a thing or 2 about dog training. Not to mention that my sweet Sammy boy won 1st place in Agility at the 2009 State Fair.

Today we worked on sit and come. The 2 most important commands. I am also whistle training them. This way I don't have to yell and scream when they are in the yard or at the river with us. Bella is scared of the whistle. lol too funny. I am using their dog food as the reward. They love it and the kernels are super small. I just sit in my chair, and when they get out of my sight, I whistle, say the command and they come a running. Love it!

We also have been working on ringing a bell when they have to go outside to go potty. I hung the bell and Molly remembered it and now she rings it. lol But she rings it just to go out to play. Today Dozer rang it to go out. Bells whines. I'll take any sign I can get.

We went for a car ride to my friends house today. Dozer puked on the way there. then they met a cat. they stalked it and tried to play. so funny! Then on the way home... more puke. uh! Bella just whines. So looks like more car rides for the puppies.

Well, now my van has been blessed again! first goat droppings now puppy puke! lol I just love these puppies! They are so good, and learn so fast! it is amazing!

I wonder.... Sam died on a friday, the following wednesday the puppies were born. I think that Sam has come back to us through Dozer. Not because he looks like my Sammy boy, but I see many things Sam did in Dozer. Like not going outside in the rain, he calmness, the way he learns things is so fast like Sam did. He even heels like Sammy did. I just get a feeling about Dozer. I can't explain it. David feels it too. Maybe I am crazy, maybe not. I just have this connection to him, it is weird. I haven't mentioned it to the twins not sure why. But I just got this feeling and it gets stronger the more we have him. I didn't feel it when we picked him out, but from the minute he came home with us it was there.

Well, I am off here for tonight. thanks for reading!
